The Supreme Court on Monday concluded the hearings for the petition filed by the Prosecutor's Office to review former President Mohamed Nasheed's 13-year jail sentence on terrorism charges.

Nasheed was convicted over the arbitrary arrest of former Criminal Court Judge Abdulla Mohamed during his regime.

While speaking at the hearing, Nasheed stated that the arrest of Judge Abdulla Mohamed was by Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and that he had no say over that matter.

Although the former president requested for a verdict to be announced during the hearing, the judge's bench stated that they needed time before issuing a ruling.

However, while concluding the hearing, Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi assured that a verdict will be delivered very soon.
