The latest update from Ministry of Tourism reveals that the total tourist arrivals to the Maldives has exceeded 700,000.
As per the ministry's Tourism Status Update, the total tourist arrivals have reached 706,468 as of 01st June 2022.
Moreover, the tourist arrivals in annual terms have observed an increment of 55.0 percent while the annual tourist arrivals for the same period in 2021 stood at 455,920.
According to the ministry the daily average of tourist arrivals in June stood at 4,146 while in annual terms, the daily average of tourist arrivals stood at 4,648.

- United Kingdom (02nd rank) - 88,043 arrivals (12.5 percent market share)
- Russia (03rd rank) - 67,088 arrivals (9.5 percent market share)
- Germany (04th rank) - 59,731 arrivals (8.5 percent market share)
- Italy (05th rank) - 45,198 arrivals (6.4 percent market share)
- United States (06th rank) - 33,297 arrivals (4.7 percent market share)
- France (07th rank) - 28,491 arrivals (4.0 percent market share)
- Switzerland (08th rank) - 17,553 arrivals (2.5 percent market share)
- Saudi Arabia (09th rank) - 15,371 arrivals (2.2 percent market share)
- Austria (10th rank) - 12,857 arrivals (1.8 percent market share)
Furthermore, the ministry confirms that as of the review date the island nation has a combined operational bed capacity of 54,852 beds from a total of 974 operational tourism properties, which include;
- Tourist Resorts - 164
- Hotels and Guesthouses - 660
- Safari Vessels - 150
