The resorts are Anantara Kihavah Villas in second place, Cheval Blanc Randheli in seventeenth and One and Only Reethi Rah which placed 28th.

Conde Nast Traveller’s Readers’ Travel Awards also ranked the Maldives second in its Travel Top 100, while it chose the archipelago as the best islands in the world.

Conde Nast’s awards is one of the oldest, most prestigious travel awards worldwide. This year’s awards were based on the votes of over 300,000 readers with 7,394 hotels, 500 cruise lines and 236 archipelagos from 606 cities vying for the honours.

Furthermore, Anantara Kihavah was also awarded the best resort in the Indian Ocean at the awards ceremony held in New York, USA, last Friday while Anantara Veli placed eighth.

The Anantara brand of properties is managed by Thai firm Minor International based in Bangkok. Minor International also operates other brands in the Maldives, notably PER AQUUM.

As one of the top tourist destinations in the world, the Maldives has received continual awards and accolades for its globally acclaimed tourism industry and resorts, including honours such as the top island destination and best beaches.
