Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister of Higher Education Dr Maryam Mariya described the MoU as a golden opportunity for Maldivian students to gain quality higher education and training.

“This agreement symbolizes the progress of the education sector and highlights the importance both countries place on the development of educational institutions and collaboration with students,” she said.

In addition to financial concessions in the form of tuition fees, students will also receive support for visa processing and administrative arrangements through Malaysian authorities, EMGS said.

Malaysia is a popular destination for Maldivian students, with over 1,700 Maldivians currently pursuing higher education in the country.
