Urbanco has announced that a major cleanup campaign will take place in Hulhumalé on Saturday, June 10.
The corporation announced that it will host a significant cleanup initiative in honor of World Environment Day named "Magey Campaign."
According to Urbanco, the event will commence on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. at the Channel Park Beach area. The cleanup activities will take place in seven different residential locations in Hulhumalé 1 and 2. Individual teams will be formed to clean these designated locations.
Urbanco said that water sports activities will be organized to conclude the clean-up event at 10:45 am.
"Schools, government organizations, and ministries in the Greater Malé Region will also participate in the event. As part of our environmental protection efforts, Urbanco has initiated the "My World" campaign to promote awareness about global environmental changes and the significance of safeguarding our environment. Numerous activities and initiatives have been planned under this campaign for the year," Urbanco said in a statement.
The corporation said that the campaign would provide a new dimension to their efforts in building Hulhumalé as an eco-friendly smart city. As part of the campaign, the company's Beyond Hulhumalé Plan aims to identify existing environmental hazards and contribute to creating a safe environment.
Urbanco has consistently organized clean up events in Hulhumalé in collaboration with various organizations.
