In a press release issued by USAID, the organisation's Deputy Assistant Administrator Anjali Kaur said that the agreement was " a concrete demonstration of the growing partnership we share with the Government and people of Maldives."

The DOAG was signed in March 2019, and the eight amendments made to date have resulted in a total contribution of USD 25.94 million from the United States to the Maldives.

The amendment made today ensures the United States will provide an additional USD 3 million to improve Maldives’ technical capacity to manage public finances, improve economic resilience, and ensure democratic governance.
