The second took place on June 7, when a car plowed into the wall of the Marine Research Centre, which is situated off the entrance of the Sinamale Bridge in capital Male'. The driver's license has been suspended for a period of one year and six months.

The third accident took place on June 8, when a car crashed into the dividers again. The driver's license is suspended for a year.

The dividers along the highway has been damaged or destroyed in five accidents to date. The latest accident took place late Saturday, where a section was again destroyed.

Housing Development Corporation (HDC)'s Managing Director Suhail Ahmed revealed Sunday that concrete dividers will be placed along the highway in the future, to minimise damage.
