Ministry of Dhivehi Language has stated that actions have been implemented to regain the cultural sentiments of senior citizens in order to reveal the intricate Maldivian traditions and developments to the world as well as Maldivian residents themselves.
Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage has begun efforts to collect the Maldivian memories of the past.
Speaking at the press conference held to disclose the achievements marked within President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s 100-day roadmap, Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage, Adam Naseer Ibrahim stated that efforts to gather the recollections of senior citizens have commenced in collaboration with the councils.
“We will first propose this idea to the councils. Once we structure a document for collecting these memories and implement this accordingly with it, the aforementioned results will follow.”
He stated that the purpose of doing such a thing is to inform the world as well as Maldivians of their former experiences, lifestyle and the folklore linked with the local islands.
“Once this information is deposited, under the President's special visitor-economy policy, meaningful characteristics of Maldivians and their ways of civilization can be introduced to the world by combining the Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage (Ministry), together with modern facilities and businesses and income sources can be secured through the Culture and Heritage (Ministry).”
The Minister further assured that proceeding within this line of work will allow the foreign world as well as Maldivians themselves to better understand the extent of the Maldivian culture and traditions and further convey the extent of the advancements experienced by Maldivians of the past.
