In an accident that occurred on a Male' street on Wednesday night, a motorcycle crashed with a bus and a car, leaving the motorcycle driver with serious injuries.
The injured individual is an 18 year old Maldivian male.
Police stated that the reports of the accident they received at 20:00 hrs last night described events as the speeding motorcycle travelling west to east on Boduthakurufaanu Magu crashing into a bus halted at the Stelco Bus Stop, and then careening into a car on the other lane.
Police said that the driver of the motorcycle is receiving treatment for his injuries at IGMH. IGMH confirmed this, adding that treatment is being provided in the emergency room. No further details were provided.
Reports indicate that the man's left leg may have been fractured, with other serious injuries likely sustained.
Police said that all three vehicles involved have sustained varying levels of damage.
Police also revealed that the driver of the motorcycle does not possess a valid driving license.
