The remands for 'Funama' Adam Manik and 'Baikandi' Hassan Manik, two senior activists of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), arrested in Sri Lanka were extended again on Friday.

Sri Lanka extended their remands by three days. The next hearing for their remand process will be held on May 21.

The two were taken into custody after Sri Lankan police found a book on the Islamic State (IS) inside their residence, during operations conducted following the Easter terror attacks on April 21.

Reports state that the two Maldivians were not linked to the book found in their residence as it was owned by another individual who lived at the same address. They were both arrested shortly after their arrival to Sri Lanka.
