The annual total of tourist arrivals reached above 1.27 million as of October 19, 2022.
According to Ministry of Tourism, the total tourist arrival by the review date reached 1,279,231. This marks a 34.1 percent annual increment when compared with the same period in 2021, during which arrivals total stood at 953,725.
However, annual arrival total was still 4.3 percent below pre-pandemic levels of the same period in 2019 during which arrivals reached 1,337,178.
For the period October 1 to October 19, tourist arrivals observed 6.9 percent increment when compared with the same period in 2021. Tourist arrivals for the period in 2022 stood at 88,611 while for the same period last year it stood at 82,863.
Tourist arrivals from October 1 to 19 observed a modest 3.7 increment when compared with 2019, during which it reached 85,488.
Daily arrival average in annual terms stood at 4,381 while for the period October 1 to 19, daily arrival average stood at 4,664. The average duration of stay is 8.1 days in annual terms, while the figure for the period October 1 to 19 was at 7.8 days.
Tourist source markets showed no change in ranking. The details are as follows (figures represent arrivals);
