Ministry of Tourism has begun compiling a database containing information on individuals who have served in the Maldivian tourism industry for more than 30 years.

In an announcement today, the Ministry requested the public to submit the names and information of such workers.

According to the announcement, the Ministry needs information on those who have served the tourism industry for a long time, those who have remained in service, and those who have assisted in bringing significant progress to the sector.

Permanent Secretary of The Ministry of Tourism Fathimath Nilfa said that the establishment of the data base was initiated in recognition of service workers in celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Tourism of the Maldives.

"We are working closely with the industry as well. Name submission was opened to the public to not miss out anyone. The names received from the public will also be included," Nilfa said.

The ministry said the information of such service workers can be submitted via a special link before coming Sunday.

A number of colorful activities and a special award show were also held this year to mark the 50th anniversary of Maldivian tourism.
