Bank of Maldives Ltd (BML) on Tuesday opened registration for the "WoW Kidz Run", organised in partnership with Total Fitness Group (TFG).
The run, set to be held in Hulhumale' on April 27, allows up to 1000 participants.
This year introduces a new age category of 10-13 years, in addition to the usual line-up of 4-6 years, 6-8 years, and 8-10 years.
According to the bank, those who register for the run can also help raise funds for 'Beat Bullying', the nation-wide programme being conducted jointly by BML and Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) to raise public awareness on bullying.
"The main objective of this run is to emphasize the importance of staying active and healthy as well as to encourage children and parents to adopt such lifestyles. We have also opened an online portal to raise funds for the 'Beat Bullying' programme we're conducting with ARC to raise awareness to stop bullying", said an official of BML.
This is the fourth year BML since initiated its annually held Wow Kidz Run. The bank has conducted a number of other events under its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, such as the ‘BML Staff Charity Run’ held last February, which raised and donated MVR 80,000 for the Maldives Thalassemia Society.
