A seaplane operated by Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) sustained extensive damages during a landing accident in Lhaviyani Atoll on Monday.
CEO of the Civil Aviation Authority Hussain Jaleel stated that the accident occurred at approximately 1130 hrs, during an attempt to land the plane near Kuredu Island Resort.
Some passengers aboard the plane sustained minor injuries during the accident.
Reportedly, strong waves and rough weather caused the accident which resulted in severe damage to one of the seaplane's propellers and its engine.
According to local media outlet Mihaaru, another accident occurred in the same area on Sunday, damaging one of the plane's wings.
