Public and companies raise concerns as service interruption to Bank of Maldives (BML)'s ATM, mobile app and some other services extends over eight hours.
BML's mobile app, internet banking services, POS systems, and ATMs have been down since 04:00 hrs early this morning.
In a post shared by BML on social media, they said that customers using BML credit cards, prepaid cards and cards from other banks can now use their POS network.
The bank is working on resolving issues faced by other services.
As BML is the leading bank in the country, with the highest number of customers, interruption to their services has caused upheaval to many services and inconveniences to a large number of people.
The app had been down for about three hours last Thursday as well. BML earlier said that their services had been affected then by a cyber attack on Microsoft, although they later said they had shut down the app after erroneous deposits due to human error. As a result, online transactions using cards issued by the bank were also facing interruptions.
