President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who is also the presidential candidate for the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), has extended an invitation to the opposition to nominate their candidates for a competitive campaign.

During his speech at a campaign rally in Meemu atoll Dhiggaru, President Solih said that both the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and himself welcomed the opposition to nominate their candidates for a competitive campaign.

The President expressed confidence in securing a second term and urged MDP supporters to work together for the party's success. He emphasized that the progress achieved in the Maldives today is the outcome of competitive elections held in recent years, which would not have been possible without the years of hard work and dedication put into democratic reforms.

"We have come a long way, MDP has come a long way. Sometimes we wonder if our opponents are still stuck in the early 2000s. We are now witnessing the result of the efforts we initiated all those years ago," President Solih said.

"I respectfully urge the opposition to let go of regressive ideals and call onto them for a competitive campaign. We are ready to compete on equal grounds and win the presidential elections with a landslide victory," President Solih said.

President Solih emphasized that the current government is committed to maintaining peace and stability and will not tolerate any form of unrest. He requested the public to grant him a second term to continue his efforts in ensuring a safe and peaceful future for the Maldives.
