Ooredoo Nation has concluded their EAFC Series Season 1 over the weekend, with prizes and awards given to the winners who participated in the championship tournament between Thursday and Saturday.
The tournament was held at the Ooredoo Head Office, and was well-received by the gaming community in Maldives. Ooredoo stated that the tournament progressed with a lot of excitement, with gamers presenting their best performances in the competitive atmosphere set up by Ooredoo in partnership with the Maldives E-Sports Association.
Mohamed Zameel Zihuny won the EAFC Maldives Championship Contender Series Season 1 and took home MVR 8,000 offered as prize money by Ooredoo Maldives. Championship Runner-Up Raid Hassan won a cash prize of MVR 4,500, with second runner-up Ahmed Rishfan winning MVR 2,500 as a prize.
Reflecting on the successful event, Ooredoo stated that the championship tournament was aimed at encouraging the growing e-sports community in Maldives, and creating an environment where many gamers could gather and compete in one place. Ooredoo also affirmed their commitment to continue promoting e-sports in the Maldives, working to introduce more opportunities for young people interested in this field.
