President Muizzu called onto the global community to come together to stop Israel
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called on the international community to leverage all of its political will and economic power to demand an immediate end to Israel's illegal occupation of Israel.
The president's remarks were made on X (formerly Twitter) on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. In his port, he said that the Maldives is firm in its commitment to the Palestinian struggle for justice and their right to live in peace.
"For every Maldivian, Palestine's struggle is our own," he wrote.
He further said that the international community must come together to leverage all political will and economic power to demand an immediate ceasefire and to end Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine. He also said that this power must be used to hold those responsible for war crimes and genocidal act accountable.
"We firmly believe that a lasting solution can only be possible through the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital," he reiterated.
