Vice President Faisal Naseem, on Tuesday, congratulated the government of Bangladesh for its considerable efforts to ensure a better quality of life for its citizens.
Speaking at the reception held to mark 48 years since Bangladesh attained Independence, the Vice President expressed confidence that Bangladesh could reach all of its development goals.
In this regard, Vice President Faisal stated that the policies envisioned in the Bangladesh Vision 2021 and Vision 2041 could be successfully implemented.
Speaking at the function, Vice President Naseem asserted that Maldives deeply valued the long-standing bilateral relationship with Bangladesh which was founded on cultural affinities, mutual respect, and close cooperation at bilateral and international levels.
Furthermore, the Vice President expressed gratitude for the immense contributions made by Bangladesh to the socio-economic development of Maldives.
Highlighting that Bangladeshi workers constitute the largest community of expatriates in Maldives, Vice President Faisal stated that much of the Maldives’ infrastructural progress and general economic growth are credited to the hard work of the expatriate population.
He reassured the administration’s commitment to resolving challenges faced by Bangladeshi workers, adding that the state would work to expedite measures aimed to protect migrant workers' rights and eliminate human trafficking.
