President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu assured that he will not become a leader who begins projects in islands without considering the economical state whenever an election approaches.

Speaking to the people of Thaa Atoll Dhiyamigili during his first presidential travel around the country after assuming office, the president stated that prioritizing development in spite of the economical contrasts is infeasible and with the steps taken by the state to ensure economic improvement, the island of Dhiyamigili will also see their wishes fulfilled without much delay.

The president said that the results of the efforts to rise from a challenging economical state will be seen and that the government’s aim is to provide wealth to all individuals.

“We will ensure development that assures wealth and economic empowerment to each citizen. We are coordinating measures for economic development in order to pave this path,” the president said.

Remarking on the difficult state of the economy, the president said that island projects can further ensue categorically with priority given to the most urgent projects. He said that despite having the option to offer promises ensuring the fulfilment of every need while visiting these islands, he will not be a ruler who makes empty promises unless the State has the means to fulfill them at the time.

“Laying sudden foundations and promising projects while disregarding the economical state as frequently done in the past when election approach will not be advantageous to the citizens in the least. That is an act of deception,” he stated.

The president said walking that path would cause loss of faith and that he does not wish for that.

The president ascertained that with the healing economic tide, the state will ensure all measures for the commencement of the new and halted projects in Dhiyamigili. He stressed the most pivotal project among this as being the Dhiyamigili-Madifushi Causeway.

The president said that his aim is to commence this scheme within the year and assured his due diligence in fulfilling his pledges. He said that the state has accomplished 100 percent conclusion of all the pledges of Week 14 in the 11th week of his presidency.
