Ooredoo has announced winners and given prizes in the largest Gaming Festival held in the Maldives.
At an event held Sunday night, Ooredoo gave away prizes to winners in various categories; Ooredoo Nation PubG Mobile Grand Finale, cosplay, FC24, racing sim and Tekken tournament.
The winner of the Tekken tournament is Ahmed Abaan, who received a cash prize of MVR 5000. A total of MVR 10,000 was given away in prizes in this tournament.
EAFC24 was won by Mohamed Aiman Ahmed. He received MVR 20,000. MVR 40,000 was divided in prizes amongst Aiman, the three best players, and the top scorer.
Ahmed Visham, winning the cosplay competition, was awarded a cash prize of MVR 10,000.
The largest prize, of MVR 50,000, was set for the PubG Finale. This was won by team E2S TM7. MVR 89,000 was granted by Ooredoo to various winners in different categories in this finale.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ooredoo Chief Commercial Officer Hussain Niyaz shared that the 3 day festival had had more than 300 registered participants, and over a 1000 visitors.
He said that in future, e-gaming festivals and new tournaments will be organized.
"This will include interschool e-gaming tournaments, university e-gaming tournaments, as well as inter-office e-gaming tournaments," he said.
oNiyaz stated that Ooredo o's aim is to promote e-gaming in the Maldives and encourage the advancement of players to the level where they can win gold medals in international competitions.
