Bank of Maldives (BML) has renewed its partnership with the Tennis Association of Maldives (TAM) as part of its continued support to the development of sports in the Maldives.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony held on Tuesday, May 23, by BML Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Karl Stumke and the President of TAM, Ahmed Hafeez.
As part of the partnership, Bank of Maldives (BML) will provide support for the National Tennis Championship for the next three years, aimed at fostering the development of young players and recognize the country's top talent in the sport.
Speaking about BML’s renewed commitment, CEO Karl Stumke said, “The National Tennis Championship is the longest running tennis tournament in the country, and we are delighted to continue our partnership with TAM to enable young athletes to further develop their talent.”
In addition to its partnership with TAM, BML continues to play a significant role in endorsing sports development in the Maldives. The bank serves as the official sponsor of all the national football teams and national surf teams, and is a nationwide partner of the Swimming Association of Maldives.
The bank is currently supporting seven top national athletes from athletics, badminton, table tennis, and tennis in their training and development through the BML Sports Scholarship Fund, which allows them to undergo training at recognized high-performance training centers worldwide.
