Naba Nishan emerges victorious once again over the Womens Single's second draw of the U-14 Tennis Development Championship Regional Qualifying Tournament in addition to securing victory during the inaugural first week. This achievement qualified Maldives to compete in the Tournament finals held next year.

Despite Maldives not qualifying for this year's finals, Naba had collected two gold medals in the last qualifiers and will be joining the ITF team to compete.

During the first week of this qualifier held between countries of South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia, Naba had secured championship of the tournament after facing off against Sri Lankan contenders. However, two players from Maldives had proceeded to a face off in the finals during the second draw of the qualifier concluded on Wednesday.

Naba seized victory of this play off after competing against Manha Mohamed Ali, winning two sets of the game with a score of 6-0 and 6-1.

First-seeded Naba was faced off with Sri Lanka's Akisha Hirundhee Silver Diunuge who was defeated by Naba. Naba also won the quarter finals with ease after contending against Lanka's Sandhithi Usgonda Arahchi.

Manha, who had attained much success in this year's qualifiers had defeated fourth-seeded Vietnam's Angok Kanh. She had also seized an impressive victory against second-seeded Sri Lanka's Annaya Joanni Norbet who faced off against Naba during the first week's tournament.

Naba and Manha had also achieved impressive feats during the female doubles. This pair's team up displayed a competitive play off in the finals. However, the pair faced defeat at the hands of the first-seeded pair of Sri Lanka, Akisha and Sandhithi with a score of 6-2 and 10-7.
