Maldives’ promising tennis star Naba Nishan has proceeded to the finals of the International Tennis Federation’s Asia’s under-14 Development Championship ongoing in Vietnam.
Naba moved to the finals of the women’s singles main draw after conquering two sets during the semifinals match yesterday.
Engaging with Akisha of Sri Lanka, Naba triumphed with a whopping 1-6 and 3-6.
The final match is scheduled to be held tomorrow, with Naba set to play against Sri Lanka’s Anya Jaoni, who defeated Vietnam’s player, Engok Kaanh. During the quarterfinals match, Naba faced Sri Lanka’s Sanditi Usgoda and emerged victorious.
During this championship held within the South, South East and East Asia, the Maldives team boasts 2 players of each gender. In addition to Naba, the team consists of Manha Mohamed Ali, Mika Mohamed Kaleem and Adam Aal Niyaz.
