Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources Ahmed Shiyam has stated today that he considers the messages received from the 'Mashi Maali' parade of Haa Dhaalu atoll Kulhuhduhfushi as constructive criticism.
While 'Maali' is traditionally a name for persons dressed as various characters from local history and folk tales, oftentimes scary ones, Kulhudhuhfushi's Maali parade is known for being different in recent years.
In Kulhudhuhfushi, every year we see the 'Maali' Parade presenting satirical scenes and characters from relevant political and current affairs of the time.
This year, the parade featured the recent concerns raised by fishermen, as well as allusions to various other government pledges, resulting in garnering the attention of many across the country.
Minister Shiyam tweeted about the parade, stating that reminders and criticism of government pledges are accepted as constructive criticism and messages.
