WAMCO crowned fifth time champions of VAM Cup

WAMCO became champions through beating Police Club in last night's final match through winning three sets straight. The sets were taken by 20-25, 19-25 and 19-25.

WAMCO has once again emerged as the Champions of the VAM Association Cup, for the fifth consecutive year.

WAMCO became champions through beating Police Club in last night's final match through winning three sets straight. The sets were taken by 20-25, 19-25 and 19-25.

WAMCO's Pattiya Juanghjan was crowned Player of the Match.

The first time WAMCO became champions was in 2019, even then beating Police Club. For each year since then, the team has been beating Police Club in the finals, taking home the cup.

WAMCO played in the 2018 finals as well. The last time Police Club won the Association Cup was in 2017.

Best Player of the Championship this year was also awarded to a WAMCO team member, Aishath Majida. This is the fourth consecutive time she has earned this honour.

Most promising player was Huraa's Aishath Dheema Nadheem, and Best Coach was WAMCO's Ahmed Adheel (Beybe).

Association Cup's Dream Team consists of Best Outside Attackers WAMCO's Aishath Majida and Police Club's Aminath Areesha, Opposite Player Police Club's Hawwa Rashida (Hawwa), Middle Blockers Police Club's Mariyam Azma and WAMCO's Nareema Idrees, Setter WAMCO's Fathimath Joozan Zareer and Libero WAMCO's Nuha Waheed.

The second runner up of this year's Association Cup is Huraa Community Club.

The best three teams of each group will play in the women's division of the National Volleyball League, set to start on Saturday.
