FIFA Withholds Development Fund to FAM

FIFA’s development fund has been withheld without giving it to the FAM.

Mohamed Jaushan Shareef, General Secretary of the association, said the fund had been withheld as FIFA is looking into relevant issues.

While FIFA has decided to withhold the development funds this time, investigations are ongoing into allegations that FAM leaders previously embezzled from FIFA's funding for development.

However, the allegations have been denied by the FAM in the past.

Another $80,000 to pay FAM salaries

FIFA had earlier decided to pay $300,000 to pay the FAM's salary. Of this, $200,000 was deposited through two installments by FIFA, reducing the backlog of the association's salaries.

Jaushan said FIFA had said it would pay $81,000, in addition to the $100,000 to be given.

Jaushan said FIFA had offered to pay an additional $81,000 to pay the pending salaries of technical staff on contract basis.
