Maldives Police Service, on Sunday, stated that they were investigating the case of two tourists that delivered bomb threats at Velana International Airport (VIA).
According to the police, the two male tourists, from Switzerland and Senegal, issued the threat at approximately 0751 hrs while at VIA for departure.
The two alleged that they possessed a bomb when airport security were about to search their luggage.
No explosive devices were found in the luggage.
The police further revealed that the tourists were most likely in a state of inebriation when the threats were made.
