Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has announced its plans to install elevators and facilitate access to electricity and water in the towers under construction in Hulhumalé 2.

Mohamed Affan, the Assistant Manager of Marketing and Public Relations at FDC, informed Mihaaru that the finalization of work is currently underway for the first six towers, where construction has been completed.

Once these towers are ready, electricity and water services will be extended to them by the year's end, with elevators to be installed in all of them.

Affan stated, "We are in the process of procuring the necessary elevators for all the towers. Each tower will be equipped with three elevators. We anticipate completing the installation of all these lifts within a month of commencing the work."

The government's decision to build 4,000 apartments across 32 towers, each having eight apartments on every floor, will provide a solution to housing needs.

The FDC assured that once the flats are ready, the provision of electricity, water, and elevators will ensure a comfortable living experience for the residents and be able to move in.

The Housing Ministry has already compiled a permanent list of beneficiaries. However, it is unclear as of yet when individuals will begin residing in these accommodations. FDC emphasized that the installation of water, electricity, and elevators will enable people to live comfortably.

As per the government's plan, the flats will be consolidated into two projects and completed by early 2025, with execution entrusted to India's JMC and NBCC, who are each working on 16 towers.
