The dustbins donated by the company are designed for the collection of two different types of segregated waste with two separate compartments. The boards and dustbins have now been installed at different locations around Maafushi.
Alia Investments stated that these dustbins and boards were donated with the aim of maintaining a clean environment in Maafushi, and to encourage climate consciousness among visitors and residents of the island.
The company also highlighted the importance of environment conservation and waste management efforts, especially since the country's economy depend on tourist hotspots like the beaches and oceans which in turn helps sustain the tourism sector.
