President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Wednesday met with representatives from the Taxi Drivers Association of Maldives.
During the meeting held at the President's Office, representatives from the association shared their collective views on matters related to taxi operations.
They also discussed avenues of overcoming pertinent issues such as financial challenges in acquiring new vehicles as per taxi regulations.
According to the regulations, vehicles older than 20 years from the date of manufacture are prohibited from use.
Furthermore, the representatives discussed ways to overcome the challenges in improving the quality of service to the public.
Speaking at the meeting, President Solih affirmed that the administration would work with the relevant stakeholders to address the concerns raised by the association.
President Solih also encouraged taxi drivers to provide exceptional services to the public.
