President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has today dismissed four members of the Tax Appeal Tribunal.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has today dismissed four members of the Tax Appeal Tribunal.
These dismissals were put in effect on the recommendation of the Parliament.
As per the Tax Administration Act, it is the President who will appoint and dismiss members from the Tax Appeal Tribunal.
After review by Parliament's Judiciary Committee, the parliament voted to recommend the dismissal of four members to the President.
The members dismissed by the President are:
1. Mohamed Munawwar Ali - President
2. Hussain Zaidhaan Jaleel - Vice President
3. Ahmed Ashraf - Member
4. Khadheeja Naeem - Member
Currently, the only member remaining at the Tax Appeal Tribunal is Ismail Sajid.
