Maldives’ Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Thursday lifted the vehicle ban imposed from 1800 hrs till 0600 hrs across the greater Male’ region as part of city-wide COVID19 restrictions.
The new order was signed by the Director-General of Public Health Maimoona Aboobakuru.
However, the agency stated that the curfew was still applicable from 2300 till 0430 hrs, hence, vehicles will also be banned within this time frame.
The ban was imposed on February 12, 2020, after the number of COVID-19 positive cases increased rapidly with the third surge in Maldives.
The agency has been slowly lifting some of the measures imposed on the region.
Earlier this week, HPA allowed cafes, restaurants, tea shops and other food establishments that provide dine-in services in the greater Male' region till 2230 hrs.
