The Maldives Police Service Traffic Police Department has been re-established after a period of dissolution.
The department, responsible for road safety in the congested Greater Male' Region, had been dissolved under the previous government's administrative changes within the police force.
Traffic in Male' City is currently managed through operational shifts at police stations.
However, starting Monday, July 1, the Traffic Police Department will be re-established as part of the current administration's strategic plan for the next four years.
Additionally, under this new strategic plan, other departments such as Gang Crime Enforcement, Anti-Scam Center, and Digital Data and Technology have been formed.

In addition, a dedicated police command has been set up to enhance policing in Hulhumale'. New police stations have been established in Hulhumale' Phase 1 and Phase 2, operating under the Hulhumale' Police Command.
