In last year's budget, MVR 10 million was also allocated for the swimming pool project, primarily for paying the advance amount, as stated by the association.
The land designated in Hulhumalé for the swimming pool construction has been cleared, with the association taking control of the adjacent land near the Hulhumalé Sports Complex in January.
Excavation work on the land is currently underway, and the Swimming Association has announced plans for a formal ceremony to inaugurate the project.
