Maldives on Saturday, set a new national swimming record, in the category of the 4x100 meter long course mixed freestyle relay at the 18th FINA World Championships taking place in South Korea.
Comprising of athletes Aishath Sausan, Aishath Sajina, Mubal Azzam Ibrahim, and Ali Imaan, the squad set the record by completing the relay in 4:25.91 minutes.
The World Championships is taking place between July 12- 28.
The previous record for the 4x100 meter long course mixed freestyle relay was a completion time of 4:31.27 minute, which was achieved in 2017, at the 17th FINA World Championships.
The previous record was set by the squad comprised of Mubal Azzam Ibrahim, Aishath Sajina, Ismail Mu'thasim Adnan and Aminath Shajan.
The Maldivian athletes smashed a total of six national records at the 18th World Championships.
