While reports were made of a violent altercation that occurred near Dharubaaruge in Male' last night, two more incidents of group involved violence on Male' region streets have been reported since then.
At 04:00 hrs early this morning, Police received reports of an altercation on Filigas Magu in Hulhumale'.
Once Police arrived on the scene, one of the individuals involved in the fight got into a car waiting in the vicinity and was driven off. Police tried to intercept, and in the process, the driver hit one of the policemen with the car and raced away from the scene.
One of the perpetrators involved in the act have since been detained, while a search is ongoing for the other.
A person injured in the fight, as well as the policeman hit by the car, have since received treatment in and been released from Hulhumale' Hospital.
Another incident occurred at 12:45 hrs this afternoon. This fight took place near Shaheed Ali Mosque in Male'. Two persons were injured and are receiving treatment in Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
Earlier, Police said that four persons were arrested in relation to last night's violence.
No connections between the three incidences of violence have been revealed so far.
