Hood has traveled to the quarter finals of the Asian Surfing Championship ongoing in Kaafu atoll Thulusdhoo.
Hood Ahmed has traveled to the quarter finals of the Asian Surfing Championship ongoing in Kaafu atoll Thulusdhoo located north of capital Male'.
With this, he has now become the only local athlete who stands a chance to advance further in the competition.
The other athletes who traveled to the fourth round heats, Ahmed Agli (Ammadey), Ismail Miglal (Kuda Issey) and Ismail Rasheed (Smiley) had crashed out of the competition on that round.
Meanwhile, Hoodh had secured second place during the third heat of the fourth round while Indonesian surfer Pajar Ariana secured first with 11.84 points.
Hoodh scored second with a score of 8.40 while the third place winner, Kamaro, a South Korean national scored 8.17 points. Smiley had also taken part in the competition and earned 5.94 points.
Captain Agil went to third place after competing in the second heat while Miglal scored least in the fourth heat.
Maldives' junior surfing team athletes are set to compete in the third round of the competition today.
