United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has gifted two drones to Maldives Police Service to be used in marine operations to ensure safety and protection at sea.
United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has gifted two drones to Maldives Police Service to be used in marine operations to ensure safety and protection at sea.
Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusan received the drones. At the handover ceremony, Ihusan stated that the drones will be used by the Marine Operations Division of the Police.
He highlighted that these drones would contribute towards further strengthening the Marine Police's efforts to ensure safety at sea. He also noted that this would provide added protection to officers engaging in the operations.
Police said that UNODC had gifted underwater and aerial drones, and that they would be used in short range operations.
