One of the victims who received severe burns from the recent fire accident, currently receiving intensive care at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) is still in critical condition.
The victim was transferred to IGMH by local authorities who were at the site of Maafannu Senrose (west block) on Thursday morning, November 10.
A media official from the hospital has corroborated the news, added they have been able to confirm the gender of the victim; a male.
"His condition has not stabilized, he is still critical," the official confirmed. The victim is treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.
Thursday's fire claimed 10 lives which included seven Indians, two Bangladeshis with one of the deceased still not confirmed of their nationality. Meanwhile, all the victims have been transferred to Galolhu mortuary.
The incident is reported as the most dangerous and harrowing fire incidents recorded in Male' City in terms of lives lost and damage to property. The fire broke out in Maafannu Senrose; a three-story building accommodating expatriates from India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
