In his speech, Commissioner Shujau emphasized the importance of the police in tackling gang-related crimes and the drug problem, as outlined in the strategic police plan for the next five years.
He encouraged the officers to face these challenges with courage, without fear or hesitation.
He also highlighted the need to uphold the highest standards of integrity, compassion, and service, advising the officers to embody strength, good character, loyalty, and pride for their country.
The Commissioner highlighted the importance of maintaining professionalism, ethical standards, and good behavior both during duty hours and beyond.
He said that action would be taken if any officer is found to be involved in criminal activities. According to Shujau, in the past year, 91 cases were investigated, resulting in action against 57 officers and 20 dismissals.
Shujau also shared his commitment to maintaining the public's trust in the police force by offering continuous education and training opportunities.
So far this year, more than 260 officers have received training from abroad.
