Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has met with UK's Minister of State for Trade Policy, Greg Hands yesterday during his two-day trip to UK. He is set to meet with leading companies in the UK's financial sector during this trip as well.
Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, held discussions with senior officials from the UK Trade Ministry on Wednesday to seek assistance from stakeholders of the UK's financial sector to develop the Maldives finance industry.
During his current trip to the UK, Minister Saeed had met with UK's Minister of State for Trade Policy, Greg Hands.
Chairperson of the Maldives International Financial Services Authority (MIFSA), Abdulla Jihad had also accompanied the Minister on this trip.
MIFSA is an institution established by Dr. Mohamed Muizzu this year with the goal of establishing a development bank in the Maldives.
During his two-day trip, Minister Saeed is scheduled to meet with leading companies in the UK's financial sector. Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has also assured that they will explore avenues to secure assistance from the UK to expand the Maldives financial market.
