A dockworker’s leg was crushed under a forklift while working at Maldives Ports Limited’s (MPL) commercial harbor zone on Wednesday.
The police stated that the incident was reported to them around 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning. They are currently probing the incident.
According to an official from Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), the 44 year old’s right leg was badly crushed and infected below the knees. After discussing with his family, the doctors have amputated his leg. He is currently admitted at IGMH’s ward.
A photograph received from our sources show that the person’s leg was crushed under one of the rear wheels of the forklift.
