Immigration will observe contemporary and effortless changes this year: Controller General

Controller General, Shamaan states that modernized eases will be enforced into the services of Immigration and that happier days await the Institution with the revival of employee unity.

Controller General of Maldives Immigration, Mohamed Shamaan Waheed has declared that significant contemporary alleviations will be brought to the services presented by Maldives Immigration this year.

He stated this during a public message released on occasion of the Immigration's 74th anniversary.

Shamaan assured that together with the multiple developmental projects launched by the administration this year, the Institution will also observe significant eases that confer into a standard befitting the age and time.

"This will become a fresh beginning. With unification, much happier days are approaching." he said.

The Controller General remarked that the biggest obstruction faced by the Institution when he had assumed his position on November last year was the weakened relation between employees. He revealed that the Immigration's biggest priority during the preceding four months was given to revive and refresh their unity and community.

"The sweeter results of this are being seen even within this short period of time. The secret to providing fast and effortless services to citizens and expanding the Institute's services is unity." Shamaan reiterated.

Reviewing key procedures implemented last month, Shamaan disclosed that passport services issued through Immigration has been expedited twofold and that multiple efforts are being extended into resolving the increase of undocumented immigrants.

"Solving the issue of illegal immigrants at the possible earliest is something President Dr Mohamed Muizzu gives a special importance to. Therefore, efforts to resolve this issue are being carried out together with multiple institutions linked with the State," stated the Controller General.
