Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has lifted the ban on sale and use of Cofsy syrup, as investigations showed there are no issues with the children's cough medication.
The syrup was banned in August, with MFDA announcing that a residue was observed in the medication.
In a statement issued today, MFDA said that they had taken samples from the batches available in the market at the time, and conducted further testing. The investigations have shown that there are no issues with the medication, the authority confirmed.
Effective today, import, sale and use of Cofsy syrup has been allowed again.
