The National Meteorological Department (MET) on Monday predicted that the cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal will likely have an impact on the northern Maldives islands tonight and tomorrow.
The cyclone entered the Maldives yesterday, according to the MET office. In the northern Comorin Sea, where there is currently a low pressure region, the strength of the cyclone has deteriorated.
Within the upcoming 24 hours, it is expected to travel north of the Maldives and into the Arabian Sea. Tonight and tomorrow, regions of the north are predicted to experience heavy rain and thundershowers.
