Ministry of Higher Education has extended the deadline to apply for student loans, which were opened last month, for higher education both in the Maldives and abroad.
On February 29, 500 student loan opportunities were opened, with the initial deadline expiring today.
Ministry of Higher Education announced that the deadline to apply for the loan has been extended until May 2. Applications can be submitted until 13:30 hrs of the same day.
During a press conference to announce the loans, Minister Dr. Maryam Mariya emphasized that priority will also be given to students with special needs who wish to pursue higher studies.
In the past, student loans were also provided to individuals with disabilities; however, it did not cover additional expenses beyond the loan amount.
Students will have the opportunity to pursue educational programs from diploma to Ph.D. studies, covering all expenses.
