In his Independence Day greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of India's 78th Independence Day, President Solih said that the enduring friendship between the two countries, rooted in history, has contributed to development and prosperity in both the Maldives and the region.
"As we look to the future, I am confident that our partnership will continue to strengthen, driving mutual prosperity and shared goals," President Muizzu said in his post on social media platform X.
President Muizzu recently attended the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his third term.
Earlier this week, Indian External Affairs Minister Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar also visited the Maldives, where he held talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations across various fields. During his visit, Dr Jaishankar also arranged for concessions in the repayment of loans owed by the Maldives to India.
