Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) launched an outdoor campaign in United Kingdom to promote the Maldives.
According to MMPRC, the campaign includes three major efforts to market Maldives as an ideal holiday destination.
There are 40 digital advertisements displayed on screens featuring images and videos of Maldives, at bus stops near busy train stations in London. This includes The Original Tour buses in London and the digital screen inside Waterloo train station
The images and videos feature the trademark white beaches of Maldivian islands and crystal clear lagoons rich in marine life.
Managing Director of MMPRC Thoyyib Mohamed expressed pleasure at being able to bring the blue lagoon of Maldives to London during Autumn.
"The UK is an important and significant market for inbound tourism to the Maldives, so we hope the advertisements have encouraged the city’s busy commuters to consider our beautiful islands as a destination for their next escape".
MMPRC further noted that the number of tourists arriving from UK continues to increase, revealing that from January till August this year, a total of 83,089 visitors were welcomed. This is a 10.5 percent increase in comparison to the same period last year.
Furthermore, UK holds a 7.3 percent of the total market share, while the numbers continue to incline at a steady rate.
