Five arrested for assault, holding man captive in Hithadhoo

Five people have been arrested in connection with battery and holding a man captive in Hithadhoo, Addu City.

Police said the incident came to light while officers were patrolling the area near Milo Stadium at around 1:35 a.m. when they noticed people fleeing the scene.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered a 37-year-old man tied to a bench. He had been assaulted, and part of his head was shaved.

Four individuals and a 15 year old minor were arrested at the scene.

Police have not yet disclosed the motive behind incident, and the case remains under investigation.
